Experienced keepers will be “raiding” the nest this Friday 13 January at 10.30am. Once the eggs are harvested, some will be selected for incubation.
Nestled on the banks of the magnificent Hawkesbury River and at the foot of the Blue Mountains, the historic town of Windsor is home to the Hawkesbury International Sand Sculpting Championships.
For four days from 11 January 2012, a dozen sand sculptors from Australia and around the world will compete to be crowned champion in the inaugural event to be held on the banks of the Hawkesbury River at Windsor’s Howe Park. The winner will be announced on January 15th and the exhibition will continue through January 29, 2012.
The NSW Government has established the Visitor Economy Taskforce to develop a tourism and events strategy to double tourism expenditure to NSW by 2020. A final report will be presented to the Minister for Tourism, Major Events, Hospitality and Racing and Minister for the Arts, The Hon George Souris by the end of May 2012.
Stakeholder involvement will be fundamental to the shaping of a successful strategy and to help achieve these goals, the Taskforce will be holding a round of consultation across New South Wales over the next fortnight.

The Hills Cupcake Bake off now in its second year will officially launch on Wednesday 5 October.
Invitations are currently being sent out to more than 20,000 children from 120 primary schools within the Hills District.

The Tourism Industry Council NSW provided a full-day workshop from 9.45 am to 4.00 pm on Wednesday 15 June 2011 at the Australian Hotels Association (AHA) NSW, Macquarie Street, Sydney.This workshop was free of charge and was open to all tourism operators who were interested in entering the 2011 NSW Tourism Awards.
The workshop equipped entrants with a thorough understanding of the awards submission process. It covered important information including how to correctly respond to questions as well as providing detailed insight into the judging process. The day also included practical exercises enabling entrants to fine-tune and improve on submissions.
